Helicopter operators in both the military and private sectors preferred DOD-PRF-85734 oils, such as Turbo Oil 25, for the wear protection provided by the extreme pressure additive technology. Turbo Oil 25 is formulated from synthetic base stocks and high-tech additives to provide the combined thermal and oxidation stability properties of commercial Type II oils with extreme pressure additives to maximize gear system reliability.
