Tuffbond ® 394 is a single component, high temperature resistant, heat activated epoxy. It cures into a high performance thermoset system with excellent adhesion to a wide variety of substrates. Tuffbond ® 394 will change from amber yellow to reddish brown after curing. Connecting the voice coil to the cone has been a challenge for engineers, especially when the adhesive temperature resistance requirement is above 200ºF (93ºC). Two-component epoxy has been widely used for this application, but at such a mix ratio there are limitations as to the rate of treatment, potential solidification in equipment, and the need for equipment wash solvents.
