One- and two-part room-temperature-vulcanising (RTV) silicone sealants and adhesives for engine bays, duct and gasket sealing, electrical and electronic assemblies, high-temperature zones and general assembly. Most products are from Momentive (including RTV 106), alongside Dow, Wacker, Loctite, CHT and Hernon. MIL-A-46106 and MIL-A-46146 are among the most requested aerospace specifications. What is the difference between flowable and non-slump RTV?
Flowable RTVs self-level and suit coating and filling. Non-slump paste RTVs stay in place on vertical and overhead surfaces.
Where are high-temperature RTVs used?
In areas with continuous heat exposure such as engine bays, around exhausts and hot air ducts. Continuous and intermittent temperature limits are given in the TDS.
