Ardrox AV8 is a super-penetrating, water-displacing corrosion inhibiting compound that forms a tack-free, firm, transparent brown film.
Features:
- High penetration with good corrosion inhibition at low film weight

- Suitable for painted and unpainted surfaces
- Can be overcoated with Ardrox AV30 or AV100D in severely corrosive areas
- Film removable with Ardrox AV 980
Applications:
- Corrosion protection of metals in airframe structures and aerospace components
- Applied by dipping, brushing or spraying; spraying recommended for best penetration
- Movable parts must be masked; Ardrox AV25 is suggested where masking is not practical
Typical Properties:
- Wet film thickness: 20 to 40 µm (0.8 to 1.6 mils)
- Flash point: 38°C (100°F) minimum
- Density at 23°C: 890 ± 20 kg/m³
- Non-volatile content: 42% by weight minimum
- Drying time: 40 to 60 minutes at ambient temperature
- Salt spray resistance: over 100 h on steel, over 750 h on aluminium 2024-T3
- Shelf life: 36 months
