Diphyl THT

Diphyl THT is a high-performance, heat-resistant synthetic heat transfer fluid (HTF).

It is a clear, colorless to pale yellow liquid. Diphyl THT is odorless and, owing to its polyphenyl structure (chemically: partially hydrogenated terphenyls), has very high thermal stability and a long service life.

Thanks to its high boiling point, Diphyl THT can be used in unpressurized systems across its entire operating range.

The very low level of impurities such as chlorine and sulfur ensures that metals normally used in heat transfer equipment are not corroded. The application range is between 0 ° C and 345 ° C. The film temperature should not exceed the 370 ° C limit significantly or for extended periods.

Applications

Diphyl THT is used worldwide in numerous applications for indirect heating of process plants in the chemical and petrochemical industry. Diphyl THT is primarily used in reactors, polymerization processes, distillation columns and processing machines such as those for the production of synthetic resins, plastic raw materials, polyester films and fibers and for fatty acid processes, phthalic anhydride distillation, polyamide extrusion etc.

Diphyl THT is also used for waste heat recovery in the steel and petrochemical industries for optimum energy utilization.

A good example of Diphyl THT use is the production of PBT, PET and purified terephthalic acid (PTA) in many fiber spinning plants worldwide.
