Topcoats
Topcoats for aircraft exteriors and interiors and defence systems: polyurethane (including PPG Desothane HS), epoxy and specialty topcoats. Almost all products are from PPG Aerospace (Desothane, Deft, Celoflex), alongside AkzoNobel. Topcoat selection follows the specification and colour code; MIL-PRF-85285 and Boeing BMS 10-xx specifications are frequently requested for polyurethanes. A topcoat is used as a system with its primer, activator and thinner.

How do I read the colour part of the product code?
In codes like CA8201/R9005, the part after the slash is the colour: R indicates a RAL code and B a Boeing (BAC) colour. Send us the colour code for an exact match.
Are activator and thinner sold separately?
Yes. Topcoat base, activator and thinner are separate products; activators and thinners are in the "Thinners, Hardeners & Activators" category. The correct match is given in the TDS.
