Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
Consumables for non-destructive testing: liquid penetrants, developers, cleaners, removers and emulsifiers, and magnetic particle inspection products. Most products are from Magnaflux (including Zyglo and Magnaglo), alongside Beta and Rocol. In aerospace, penetrant inspection follows AMS 2644 and ASTM E1417, and magnetic particle inspection ASTM E1444. Penetrants are selected by type (fluorescent or visible), method (A–D) and sensitivity level. Penetrant, emulsifier and developer are qualified as a family, so products from the same family should be used together. SDS and technical documents are on each product page.
Send us the product code or sensitivity level from your procedure. Ask MABAYCO first.

Questions we are asked most
What is the difference between Type I and Type II penetrants?
Type I is fluorescent, inspected under UV-A light, and offers higher sensitivity. Type II is a visible (red) dye inspected under white light, practical for field checks.
What does the sensitivity level mean?
For fluorescent penetrants, levels from ½ to 4 indicate the ability to reveal small discontinuities; level 4 is the most sensitive. The required level is stated in the inspection procedure.
Can penetrants and developers from different brands be combined?
Generally not. Under AMS 2644, penetrant, emulsifier and developer are qualified as a family; combinations outside the qualified products list (QPL) family are not accepted.
