Corrosion-inhibiting sealants for faying surfaces, fasteners and areas where dissimilar metals meet. All products are from PPG Aerospace (PR-1432-GP, PR-1436G, PR-1775, PS 870 and others). These sealants block moisture ingress and galvanic corrosion; they are applied to faying surfaces before assembly and to fasteners in wet installation. MIL-PRF-81733 and AMS 3265 are the most requested specifications.

What is faying surface sealing?
A thin layer of sealant applied between two parts before they are joined. It prevents moisture ingress and galvanic corrosion; class C products with long application times are used.
What is the difference between chromated and non-chromated corrosion-inhibiting sealants?
Chromated products have long been the standard; non-chromated products are spreading because of health and environmental restrictions. OEM approval decides which to use.
