Fuel-resistant sealants for seams, fasteners and fillet sealing in integral fuel tanks. Most products are from PPG Aerospace's PR range (PR-1422, PR-1750 and others), alongside Naftoseal, 3M and Flamemaster. Fuel tank sealants must withstand jet fuel, temperature cycling and vibration; AMS-S-8802 and AMS 3276 are among the most requested specifications. Products come in brushable (A), fillet (B) and faying surface (C) classes, in kit and Semkit packaging.

Questions we are asked most
What is the difference between polysulfide and polythioether sealants?
Polysulfides are the long-established standard. Polythioethers offer higher temperature and fuel resistance and usually cure faster. The OEM documentation decides which to use.
When can the tank be refuelled?
Tack-free and cure times depend on temperature and humidity and are given in the TDS. The cure requirement in the maintenance documentation governs refuelling.
