Silicones

Silicones have their own category: RTV silicone sealants and adhesives, encapsulants and potting compounds, mould-making silicones, silicone fluids and oils, and silicone greases and compounds. Most products are from Momentive (including RTV 106), alongside Dow, Wacker and Loctite. MABAYCO is an authorised distributor for Momentive. Silicones stay flexible across a wide temperature range and are used in engine bays, electrical and electronic assemblies, gaskets and protective coatings. In aerospace, selection usually follows specifications such as MIL-A-46106 (general-purpose RTV) and MIL-A-46146 (non-corrosive RTV for electronics) or OEM documentation.
