3M 5453 PTFE Glass Cloth Tape is a woven glass cloth impregnated with PTFE, giving extra strength and dimensional stability in addition to wear resistance and low friction. Its moisture absorption is close to zero and it resists wrinkling and blistering above 175 °C.
Features
- Silicone adhesive; total thickness 220 µm
- Temperature range -73 °C to +204 °C (intermittent up to 260 °C)
- Adhesion to steel 3.8 N/10 mm; tensile strength 157.5 N/10 mm
- Tear and puncture resistant
Applications
- Easy-release surfaces on packaging and heat-sealing machines
- Release surfaces on metal bonding tools, ironing and pressing equipment
- Lining chutes, troughs, ducts and baking equipment
Notes
- Above 204 °C PTFE gives off small quantities of toxic fumes; provide adequate ventilation.
- Shelf life: 12 months from despatch at 21 °C and 50% RH.
