Instantbond 112

Hernon® Instantbond 112 is a low viscosity, single component, solventless, room temperature curing cyanoacrylate adhesive. It polymerizes rapidly when pressed into a thin film between parts, with surface moisture starting the cure; it develops handling strength within seconds and full functional strength in a few hours. It bonds thermoplastics, elastomers, ceramics, leather, cork and paper, and is particularly suited to bonding metal substrates. It is not recommended for long-term glass to glass bonding.

• Methyl-2 cyanoacrylate; clear liquid; viscosity (25 °C) 2–12 cP; specific gravity 1.09
• Temperature range −55 to 82 °C; gap fill 0.05 mm
• Fixture time (22 °C, 50% relative humidity): steel 20–40 s, aluminium 30–60 s, neoprene and nitrile rubber under 10 s
• Shear strength (ISO 4587, 24 hours): grit-blasted steel 20.0–30.3 N/mm², grit-blasted aluminium 15.2–22.1 N/mm²
• Dielectric strength 25 kV/mm

Storage

• Store refrigerated for extended shelf life; warm to room temperature before opening
