Hernon® Dripstop 940 is a high speed thread sealant for inactive metals such as stainless steel and aluminium used in chemical process piping. It is single component, cures without a primer and prevents galling on pipe threads and fittings. Independent third party verification shows it is compatible with diesel exhaust systems using DEF to ISO 22241. It seals up to 250 psig steam at 204 °C continuous service.

- Dimethacrylate ester; white paste; viscosity 120,000–250,000 cP; specific gravity 1.16
- Pressure resistance up to 10,000 psi; temperature range −55 to 204 °C
- Breakloose torque (3/8 in NPT steel, 22 °C): 100–160 in-lb at 24 hours, 210–290 in-lb at 72 hours
Use and Storage
- Disassemble with hand tools; for large diameters apply local heat to approximately 250 °C
- Store at 7–29 °C in a cool, dry place
