LOCTITE 5452 is a one-component anaerobic methacrylate thread sealant designed for threaded fittings commonly found in hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Its thixotropic nature suits large-diameter pipes, and it contains no fillers or particles that could interfere with a hydraulic system.
Features
- Purple liquid; viscosity 15,000–40,000 mPa·s
- Breakaway torque 3.5 N·m after 24 h (3/8 x 16 steel nuts and bolts)
- Tested to -75 °C; heat aged up to 180 °C
- Resists motor oil, gasoline, brake fluid and ethanol
- Cure speed improved with activators SF 7471 or SF 7649
Applications
- Threaded fittings in hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Dry-seal fittings such as O-ring boss connectors (prevents rotation)
- Sealing scratches and imperfections on flare fitting mating surfaces
Notes
- Not recommended for pure oxygen or oxygen-rich systems. Store at 8–21 °C.
