Instantbond 123

Hernon® Instantbond 123 is a medium viscosity, single component, solventless, room temperature curing cyanoacrylate adhesive. It polymerizes rapidly when pressed into a thin film between parts, with surface moisture starting the cure; it develops handling strength within seconds and full functional strength in a few hours. It bonds metals, thermoplastics, elastomers, ceramics, leather, cork and paper. It is not recommended for long-term glass to glass bonding.

• Ethyl cyanoacrylate; clear liquid; viscosity (25 °C) 110 cP; specific gravity 1.10
• Temperature range −55 to 82 °C; gap fill 0.15 mm
• Fixture time (22 °C, 50% relative humidity): steel 15–30 s, aluminium 2–10 s, ABS and PVC 2–10 s
• Shear strength (ISO 4587, 24 hours): grit-blasted steel 17.9–26.2 N/mm², etched aluminium 11.0–19.3 N/mm²
• Dielectric strength 25 kV/mm; dielectric constant 2.3

Storage

• Store refrigerated for extended shelf life; warm to room temperature before opening
