LOCTITE EA 9392 AERO (Hysol EA 9392) is a two-component paste adhesive that cures at room temperature and has excellent shear strength at high temperatures. It exhibits excellent toughness and yields durable bonds over a wide temperature range. It is easy to mix, thixotropic and can also be used as a gap filling and potting adhesive. Its service temperature is approximately 177 °C.
Application Properties
- A grey, B amber, mixed grey; viscosity (25 °C) A 420 Pa·s, B 660 Pa·s; mixed density 1.29 g/ml
- Mix ratio A:B by weight 100:32, by volume 100:44; volume measurement is not recommended for structural applications
- Pot life (100 g, 25 °C) 75 min; handling strength in 24 hours at 25 °C
- Cure 5–7 days at 25 °C or 1 hour at 82 °C; do not mix more than 450 g at a time because of heat build-up
Performance (2024-T3 aluminium)
- Lap shear (ASTM D1002, cured 5 days at 25 °C): 24.1 at −55 °C, 29.6 at 25 °C, 17.2 at 82 °C, 13.8 at 121 °C, 9.0 at 149 °C, 6.9 MPa at 177 °C
- Bell peel (ASTM D1876): 178 N/25 mm at 25 °C, 133 N/25 mm at 82 °C
- Castings: tensile strength 41.3 MPa; elongation 4%; Tg dry 73 °C, wet 62 °C (cured 7 days at 25 °C); compressive strength 64.1 MPa
