AeroShell Fluid 12 is a low volatility synthetic ester oil used in aircraft instruments and for the general lubrication of aircraft. It is oxidation and corrosion inhibited and has good high and low temperature characteristics. Besides general aircraft lubrication, it is used for aircraft gyro instrument gimbal bearings, separately lubricated high speed turbines and compressors, aircraft air cycle equipment and electronic equipment where low evaporation at high and low temperatures is required. As a synthetic oil it should not contact incompatible seal materials such as neoprene and fluorocarbon (Viton), and it may affect certain paints and plastics.
