Bonderite C-MC 5884

BONDERITE C-MC 5884 AERO (known as TURCO 5884) is a concentrated liquid cleaner that removes oil, salt and solid deposits from compressor blades, guide vanes and rotors of in-service jet engines. Periodic cleaning of these components is necessary to avoid power loss, abnormal temperature increases and increased fuel consumption. It is typically very low in phenol, chloride and sulfur, ash free and readily miscible with water.

• Listed in General Electric SPM REF #C04-140 and Pratt & Whitney SPMC-87
• Flash point 65 °C minimum (TCC)

Application

• Procedure A (engine rotated by starter): 1 part product to 4 parts distilled or demineralized water; inject into the compressor air intake for 60 seconds, dwell 5 min, repeat and rinse with water
• Procedure B (engine operating, cooled for at least 45 min after shutdown): 1 part product to 1 part water; inject the solution at 45 psi at the speed prescribed by the engine manufacturer and flush with water
• Below 0 °C add 20% by volume methanol or glycol; the engine manufacturer's procedure must be followed

Storage

• Can be stored at 0–60 °C without detrimental effects
