Castrol Brayco™ Micronic 889 is a clear and bright, synthesized hydrocarbon based heat transfer fluid and dielectric coolant. It is designed for electrical and electronic cooling of ground based and airborne closed loop systems. It offers high specific heat compared with other hydrocarbons, esters and silicone fluids, and provides the oxidative stability, low temperature properties and hydrolytic stability typical of polyalphaolefin products. It has excellent dielectric properties, is harmless to most common metals of construction, and is compatible with low acrylonitrile Buna N compounds and fluoroelastomers. Operating temperature is −54 to 135 °C. It meets and is qualified to MIL-PRF-87252C; NATO code S-1748.
