PPG DeSoto® CA7870 is a conventional solids, carbon filled epoxy anti-static coating with controlled conductive properties. It gives low surface conductivity on non-conductive substrates such as radomes and antennae where static charge dissipation is required. It is compatible with Desothane® HS topcoats, adheres well to plastic surfaces and resists fluids. Service temperature is −54 to 177 °C.

Mixing and Application
- By volume CA7870 base 1 : 910X464 activator 1
- Induction time 45, 30 or 15 min depending on temperature; pot life 4 hours at 21–25 °C
- Apply at 15–30 °C, 30–60% RH; dry film 15–25 µm; theoretical coverage 6.3 m²/L at 25 µm
- Lightly sand the surface with 180 grit or finer

- Colour black; surface resistivity 1.0–100 megohms per square
- At 22–28 °C dust free 15 min, tack free 2 hours; full cure 7 days
