Threadlockers that prevent loosening and leakage in threaded joints, pipe thread sealants and formed-in-place gaskets for flanges. Brands include Loctite and Hernon; MABAYCO is an authorised distributor for Hernon. Anaerobics cure in the absence of air on metal contact; the strength level (low, medium, high) determines whether the joint can be disassembled. MIL-S-22473 and its replacement ASTM D5363 are frequently requested in aerospace. Cure speed and the need for a surface activator are given in the TDS.

What do threadlocker colours mean?
Generally purple is low strength (small screws), blue medium (removable with hand tools) and red high (heat needed to remove). Green wicking grades are applied after assembly. Exact values are in the TDS.
Which standard replaced MIL-S-22473?
MIL-S-22473 was cancelled and replaced by ASTM D5363. Old grade codes (e.g. AV, CV, HV) map to ASTM D5363 equivalents; send us the reference in your maintenance documentation.
