ShellSol D60 is an aliphatic mineral spirit consisting predominantly of C10–C12 paraffins and naphthenes. Deep hydrogenation gives it a very low aromatic content, a negligible amount of reactive impurities and a low, sweet odour.
Features
- Aromatics approx. 100 mg/kg; benzene < 3 mg/kg; sulphur < 0.5 mg/kg
- Distillation range 189–210 °C; relative evaporation rate 0.04 (nBuAc = 1)
- Flash point 67 °C (ASTM D93); auto-ignition temperature 255 °C
- Density 0.786 kg/L at 15 °C; Kauri-Butanol value 31
- No detectable polycyclic aromatics, heavy metals or chlorinated compounds
Applications
- Solvent and diluent where a low-odour, low-aromatic aliphatic hydrocarbon is required
Notes
- Expected to remain technically stable for at least 12 months under proper storage and handling.
