Zip-Chem® D-5026NS is a medium to heavy duty, water displacing, thin film avionic corrosion preventive compound. It gives superior protection to avionic connectors and components, and its lubricating properties prevent fretting corrosion. Its thixotropic property prevents it from disrupting contact between connectors. It protects cables and interior and exterior aircraft surfaces and leaves a film that prevents oxidation of the substrate. It is used for initial protection during shipment and storage and for in-service treatment of critical areas. It contains no ozone depleting chemicals. It is removed with D-5640NS, Sur-Prep® 3160 or Sur-Prep® 3167; the bulk version is ZC-026.
