Desothane® HS CA8201/F17925 is a gloss white (FS 17925) high-solids polyurethane topcoat from the CA8200 military and defence series, used to protect aircraft exteriors over Desoprime™ epoxy and Koroflex® urethane primers. It offers good gloss and colour retention and fluid resistance, with a service temperature range of −54 °C to 177 °C.

Mixing and Application
- Mix ratio by volume: CA8201 base 1 part : CA8000D activator 1 part; no induction time
- Pot life (CA82X1): 4 hours at 13–28 °C, 3 hours above 29 °C
- Apply at 15–30 °C and 20–90% RH; recommended dry film thickness 50–100 µm (2–4 mils) in two or three medium coats
- Theoretical coverage: 20 m²/L at 25 µm dry film; gloss 90+ GU at 60°
Dry Times (22–28 °C)
- Dry to tape: 5–7 hours; dry hard: 12 hours; dry to fly: 48 hours
- Accelerated cure: 1 hour flash-off at 24 °C followed by 4 hours at 49 °C
Storage
- Store at 5–35 °C; shelf life 12 months to most OEM specifications, 24 months to PRC-DeSoto standard, in unopened containers
