PPG DeSoto® 823-707 is an integral fuel tank coating that protects the interior of an aircraft fuel tank against corrosion from fuel contaminants. Chemically cured, it provides maximum protection against water, salt water, aircraft fuels, hydraulic fluids, engine oils and dilute acid solutions. It has excellent adhesion to aluminium and is compatible with fuel tank sealants; service temperature −54 to 177 °C (−65 to 350 °F). Colour: yellow.

Mixing and Application
- Mix ratio by volume: 823-707 base 4 : 910-702 activator 1 : 020-707 thinner 4
- Induction time: 45 min at 13–21 °C, 30 min at 22–28 °C, 15 min above 29 °C; pot life 8 hours at 21–25 °C
- Over aluminium treated to MIL-C-5541 or equivalent; apply at 15–30 °C and 10–90% RH in one medium coat to 20–30 µm
- Theoretical coverage 9.79 m²/L at 25 µm; dry film density 1.74 g/cm³
Drying Times (22–28 °C)
- Tack free 2 hours; dry hard 24 hours; full cure 14 days
- Accelerated (60 °C): after a 2 hour flash-off, dry hard 3–4 hours, full cure 24–36 hours
Storage
- Mixed VOC 650 g/L; shelf life 12 months to most OEM specifications, 24 months to PRC-DeSoto standard; 5–35 °C
