DOWSIL™ 736 Heat Resistant Sealant is a one-part, non-slumping red silicone paste that cures to a rubbery solid at room temperature on exposure to water vapour in the air. It is formulated for continuous operation from −65 to 260 °C and for intermittent exposure to 315 °C. It will not sag or run and may be applied overhead or on side walls. It is used for aerospace gasketing, sealing and encapsulating heating elements in appliances, industrial ovens, and bonding, sealing, potting and protective coating of parts that must perform at high temperatures. Acetic acid odour is given off during cure and disappears once the cure is complete.
