PPG FE50/6HV is a two-pack polyurethane coating designed for the protection of rivets and for overcoating sealant fillets on the internal structure of aircraft. It is highly flexible, offers excellent resistance to aircraft fluids including phosphate ester hydraulic oils, and can be applied by brush or spray.

Mixing and Application
- Mix ratio by volume: FE50/6HV base 2 parts : ACT34 activator 1 part; thinner to viscosity (T74 small-scale spray, T115 large-scale spray, T127 brush)
- Pot life at 21–25 °C: 4 hours spray, 3 hours brush
- Apply at 15–35 °C and 20–85% RH: a light coat, 15 minutes flash-off, then a second coat
- Recommended dry film thickness: 35–50 µm (1.4–2 mil); theoretical coverage (white) 15 m²/L at 40 µm; gloss >85 GU at 60°

- Dust free: 2 h / 30 min · dry to handle: 6 h / 30 min · dry to tape: 8–16 h / 30 min
- Hard dry: 16 h / 1 h · full cure: 7 days / 3 h
Storage
- Base and activator: 24 months in unopened containers; thinners 10 years; store at 5–35 °C
- Mixed VOC (unthinned): 350 g/L
