PPG JC5A is a one-part, non-curing, corrosion inhibitive jointing compound. It is applied to removable fasteners and assemblies to prevent the ingress of moisture and to protect against galvanic corrosion. Its paste-like consistency allows easy application by brush, roller or spatula. It remains permanently fluid and resists aviation fuels (jet fuel and aviation gasoline) over a wide temperature range.

- Colour yellow; viscosity 75 Pa·s (750 P); specific gravity 1.49; pigment 43%
- VOC 270 g/L; flash point 23 °C (closed cup); insoluble in water
- Easy removal and no corrosion after 1000 hours at 40 °C and 95% RH
- Easy removal, still tacky after 1000 hours dry heat at 100 °C
- No corrosion in galvanic cell tests (14 days, 3% salt water) with aluminium/titanium, aluminium/stainless steel and aluminium/cadmium plated steel couples
