LOCTITE EA 9396 AERO (Hysol EA 9396) is a low viscosity, room temperature curing adhesive system with excellent strength properties from −55 to 177 °C. Its shelf life is one year when the components are stored at 25 °C. It is qualified to MMM-A-132 Rev A Type 1 Class 3.
Application Properties
- A blue, B purple, mixed green to dark purple; viscosity (25 °C) A 70 Pa·s, B 0.09 Pa·s, mixed 3.5 Pa·s; mixed density 1.14 g/ml
- Mix ratio by weight A:B 100:30; volume measurement is not recommended for structural applications
- Pot life (100 g, 25 °C) 120 min; handling strength in 24 hours at 25 °C
- Cure 3–5 days at 25 °C or 1 hour at 66 °C; do not mix more than 450 g at a time because of heat build-up
Performance (2024-T3 aluminium, phosphoric acid anodized)
- Lap shear (ASTM D1002, cured 5 days at 25 °C): 22.8 at −55 °C, 24.1 at 25 °C, 22.0 at 82 °C, 12.4 at 149 °C, 8.6 MPa at 177 °C
- Cured 1 hour at 66 °C: 27.6 MPa at 25 °C
- Bell peel (ASTM D3167): 111 N/25 mm at 25 °C, 89 N/25 mm at 82 °C
- Hardness 80 Shore D; elongation 3.4%; volume resistivity 2.14 x 10¹⁵ ohm·cm
