LOCTITE® SI 5699™ (LOCTITE® 5699™) is a one-component, room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) grey oxime silicone paste designed primarily for flange sealing with excellent oil resistance on rigid flanges, for example on transmissions and cast metal housings. It is thixotropic, so it does not migrate after application, and it is non-corrosive. It is registered to NSF Category P1 for use as a sealant where there is no possibility of food contact in and around food processing areas (regional approval).
Typical Properties
- Specific gravity (20 °C) 1.45; tack free time (25 °C, 50% RH) 30 min or less
- After 1 week cure: hardness 45–75 Shore A; elongation at least 100%; tensile strength at least 2.4 N/mm²
- Volume resistivity 2×10¹⁵ Ω·cm; dielectric constant 2.8 at 100 Hz
- Lap shear on grit blasted mild steel (14 days, 0.5 mm gap) 1.3–2.1 N/mm²
- 90% of initial strength after 1000 hours in multi-grade engine oil at 120 °C

- Store at 8–21 °C in a dry location in unopened containers
