Castrol Brayco® 815Z is a clear, water white perfluorinated polyether (PFPE) based lubricating oil. It is virtually inert, compatible with rocket propellants and oxidizers, and unaffected by ultraviolet, cosmic radiation or high vacuum. It has an exceptionally high viscosity index, low volatility and little tendency to form deposits. It is recommended for applications at low temperature extremes and in high vacuum, and has been used successfully in many space missions and in sensitive electronic equipment. It offers excellent lubricating properties, good dielectric properties, excellent shear stability and low toxicity. It is removed with Castrol Fluoroclean™ X100 or HE.
