Sandstrom #099 is a paint-like, heat curing dry film lubricant containing molybdenum disulfide and corrosion inhibiting pigments. It prevents corrosion, galling, seizing and fretting. It is a low friction coating with long wear life from −196 to 260 °C under loads exceeding 100,000 psi. It is applied by brush, dip or spray; once heat cured it is virtually unaffected by atmospheric and fretting corrosion, solvents, acids, oils and degreasers. It contains no graphite or lead and is a low-VOC, epoxy bonded option. It is used on splines, universal joints, fasteners and frequently disassembled parts.
