Molykote 55 O-Ring, 1 Kg

MOLYKOTE® 55 O-Ring Grease is a silicone based grease that helps ensure positive lubrication and sealing by slightly swelling rubber O-rings and seals. It consists of silicone oil, ester and lithium soap. It is heat stable and oxidation resistant, provides corrosion protection and is compatible with many plastics and elastomers. It is used for lubrication between rubber and metal parts in pneumatic systems in aircraft, automotive and general industrial applications.

• Off-white; NLGI approx. 2; worked penetration 290 mm/10; density (20 °C) 0.98 g/cm³
• Base oil viscosity (25 °C) 100 mm²/s; service temperature −65 to 175 °C; drop point 220 °C
• Low temperature torque at −65 °C: initial break-away 325 x 10⁻³ N·m, after 20 min 35 x 10⁻³ N·m
• Coefficient of friction (steel ball against POM) 0.03; oxidation resistance (100 hours, 99 °C) 0.1 bar pressure drop; SKF-Emcor degree of corrosion 0
• Bleed (24 hours, 150 °C) 3.0%; evaporation (24 hours, 150 °C) 1.4%; water washout 4.2%

Use and Storage

• Apply by brush, grease gun or automatic lubrication system; can be used in centralized lubrication systems; do not mix with other greases
• It has been shown to swell natural rubber; do not use with silicone rubber, polycarbonate, ABS or liquid oxygen or other strong oxidizers unless tested for the specific application
• 60 months from date of manufacture when stored at or below 32 °C
