Molykote D Paste

MOLYKOTE® D Paste is a light coloured, solid lubricant based paste for assembly and running-in of metallic components. It consists of white solid lubricants, mineral oil and a thickener, with the consistency of an NLGI 2–3 grease. It has high load-carrying capacity, prevents stick-slip and seizure, gives good corrosion protection and very good protection against galling and fretting corrosion. It is used on sliding surfaces and friction contacts exposed to heavy loads that require "clean" lubrication, particularly at low speeds, and as a running-in lubricant; it is suitable for electrical and domestic appliances, packaging and office machinery, precision instruments, food and beverage, textile and plastics processing machinery.

• Service temperature −25 to 250 °C
• Four-ball weld load 2600 N; wear scar under 800 N load 1.08 mm; Almen-Wieland OK load 20,000 N
• Coefficient of friction (press-fit) 0.10, no chatter; static water resistance 1-90; SKF-Emcor degree of corrosion 0

Use and Storage

• Clean the sliding surfaces; apply with a brush, rag, sponge or chamois leather or spray on; do not use to excess like greases or oils
• 60 months from date of production at or below 20 °C in the original unopened containers
