Hernon® Nuts N’ Bolts® 420 is a single-component, thixotropic anaerobic threadlocker that develops low strength for easy disassembly. It cures in the absence of air between close-fitting metal surfaces.
Typical Applications
- Prevents loosening and leakage of threaded fasteners
- Adjustment of set screws
- Where easy disassembly is required
Typical Properties
- Chemical type: methacrylate ester; purple fluorescent liquid
- Viscosity at 25 °C: 800–1600 cP; specific gravity 1.03
- Set time on steel: <20 minutes
- Breakaway torque on steel after 24 h (3/8-16 grade 5): 3.4–11.3 N·m
Quality / Notes
- Each batch tested to MIL-S-46163A Type II Grade M and ASTM D5363 (AN0311)
- Not recommended for pure oxygen or oxygen-rich systems
- Store at 7–29 °C (45–85 °F) in unopened containers
