Hernon® Nuts N’ Bolts® 427 is a single-component, high-strength anaerobic threadlocker. It cures in the absence of air between close-fitting metal surfaces and is used where difficult removal is desired.
Typical Applications
- Prevents loosening and leakage of threaded fasteners
- Cylinder liner studs; front-end suspension bolts
- Hydraulic press studs; air compressor fasteners; refrigeration safety valves
Typical Properties
- Chemical type: dimethacrylate ester; red fluorescent liquid
- Viscosity at 25 °C: 400–600 cP; specific gravity 1.08
- Temperature range: -54 to 149 °C (-65 to 300 °F); set time on steel ≤20 minutes
- UL classified (File MH14222) for devices handling gasoline, petroleum oils, natural gas (≤300 psig), butane and propane up to 2 in pipe size
Quality / Notes
- Each batch tested to MIL-S-46163A Type I Grade K and ASTM D5363 (AN0221)
- Not recommended for pure oxygen or oxygen-rich systems
- Store at 7–29 °C (45–85 °F) in unopened containers
