BONDERITE C-IC 33 AERO (known as Turco Alumiprep 33) is a non-flammable phosphoric acid based cleaner, brightener and pre-paint conditioner for aluminium. It produces a chemically clean, corrosion-free surface and is used to deep clean and brighten aluminium before welding, painting or a subsequent conversion coating such as BONDERITE M-CR 1201 or M-CR 1001.
Features
- Removes aluminium oxidation and corrosion, leaving a bright clean surface
- Brush: 1:5 with water (light oxidation) or 1:2 (heavy oxidation)
- Immersion: 25 parts in 75 parts water; spray (62-G applicator): 1:3
- Typical contact time 2–5 minutes, room temperature to 49 °C
Applications
- Cleaning and brightening aluminium before welding or painting
- Surface preparation before chemical conversion coating
Notes
- Not for high-copper aluminium alloys or aluminium castings. Do not allow to dry on the surface; rinse thoroughly with water.
- Freezes at -9 °C; freezing is not detrimental (thaw and stir before use).
