MIL-PRF-23377K Class C epoxy polyamide primer is a two-component, low VOC, high build, strontium chromate type primer for spray and brush applications. It is suitable as a primer for aliphatic polyurethane topcoats. It is furnished in a packaged kit and formulated for protection against solvents and chemicals on interior and exterior surfaces.
Typical Properties
- Colour: Type I yellow, Type II dark green
- Tack-free within 5 hours; dry hard within 8 hours; pot life 4 hours
- VOC max 340 g/L (2.8 lb/gallon); shelf life 1 year from date of manufacture
Application
- Mix each component thoroughly separately; slowly pour component B into component A with constant stirring at a 1:1 ratio; allow to stand 1 hour before use
- Thin with MIL-T-81772B Type II if necessary
- Apply a mist coat and allow to dry 30 min; apply a second coat to a total dry film of 36–46 µm (1.4–1.8 mils)
- Spraying is the recommended method; brush and roll small areas only
