CA8800CT1 is the thinner component of Desothane® HS CA8800 buffable polyurethane topcoats, used to protect aircraft exteriors. Desothane® HS thinners come in six types based on drying requirements (CT, CTR, CT1, CT2, CT3, CT4); CT1 gives a longer pot life and wet edge time than CT2. CA8800 topcoats are applied over Desoprime™ epoxy primers and Desofill™ surfacers, are Skydrol® resistant and have a service temperature of −54 to 177 °C (−65 to 350 °F).

Mixing and Application
- Mix ratio by volume (gloss colours): CA8800 base 2 : CA8800Z activator 1 : thinner 1
- Pot life with CT1 2 hours; dry film thickness 50–75 µm; gloss 90+
Drying Times (CT1, 25 °C)
- Wet edge 15–30 min; between coats 30–45 min; dry to tape 5–7 hours; dry to fly 48 hours
- Accelerated: 30 min flash-off + 60 min at 49 °C
