AkzoNobel 683-3-2 is a chemically cured, two-component clear polyurethane topcoat designed to provide maximum protection of various substrates from chemicals, hydraulic fluids, aviation fuels and phosphate ester fluids. It is used with curing solution X-310A and thinner TL-59.
Components
- Base 683-3-2: 2 parts by volume
- Curing solution X-310A: 1 part by volume
- Thinner TL-59: 0–0.3 parts for spray application (no thinner for brush application)
Features
- Pot life 4 hours at 25 °C; no induction time required
- Dry to touch in 4 hours; full cure in 7 days
- Dry film thickness 25–51 µm (1–2 mils), one full wet coat
- Gloss (60°) minimum 90 GU; clear
- Theoretical coverage 4–9 m² per litre at 25 µm DFT

Notes
- Application conditions: 15–35 °C and 35–75% relative humidity.
- Shelf life: 12 months for 683-3 base and X-310A when stored at 5–38 °C.
