PPG 02GN058 BMS 10-11 Type I Class A Grade A Structural Primer

PPG 02GN058 is a fluid-resistant, two-component epoxy polyamide structural primer formulated to protect the interior structure of aircraft. It is applied over clean, dry aluminium and MIL-C-5541 or equivalent conversion coating. Colour: Boeing green (BAC 452).

Mixing and Application

• Mix ratio by volume: 020GN058 base 1 : 020GN058CAT catalyst 1
• Induction time (21–27 °C) 30 min; pot life 8 hours at 21–25 °C
• Dry film thickness 12–17 µm; theoretical coverage 8 m²/L

Drying Times

• 21–27 °C: tack free 2 hours; dry hard 4 hours; topcoat 5 hours; full cure 7 days
• Forced dry: 45 min at 49 °C, 30 min at 60 °C, 20 min at 71 °C or 15 min at 82 °C

Storage

• Mixed VOC 643 g/L; shelf life 12 months (unopened containers); store at 5–35 °C
