PPG 0778/9000 is the activator for the Celoflex™ 95 erosion resistant polyurethane topcoat system. Mixed with 5478/.... base and 0470/9000 thinner, it forms a topcoat that provides erosion resistance on radomes, leading edges and metallic and non-metallic parts exposed to rain erosion, offering excellent fluid and erosion resistance and excellent UV resistance.

Typical Properties
- Mix ratio (by volume, base:activator:thinner): 1 : 1 : 0.5–1
- Induction time: not required
- Pot life (mixed): 3 hours at 21–25 °C (70–77 °F)
- Gloss (system): >90 units with a 60° gloss meter
- VOC: mixed (1:1:1) 550 g/L; 0778/9000 activator 620 g/L
- Flash point (0778/9000 activator): 23 °C (73 °F)
Application
- Apply 2 or 3 coats, 30 minutes between coats; recommended dry film thickness 80–120 µm (3.2–4.8 mil)
- Application conditions: 15–30 °C (59–86 °F), 30–80% relative humidity
Cure
- At 23 °C (73 °F), 50% RH: dry to handle 4 hours; full cure 7 days
- At 80 °C (176 °F): dry to handle 90 minutes; full cure 3–4 hours
Packaging and Shelf Life
- 0778/9000 activator: 12 months in original unopened container; storage 5–35 °C (41–95 °F)
