PPG 5425/0000 is the white base component of 5014, a two-pack polyurethane sanding surfacer. 5014 improves the appearance of aluminium over P99 and PAC33 primers and is also suitable over epoxy, polyester and polyamide composite surfaces. It is highly flexible, water resistant and resistant to fluids including phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, and is transparent to ultrasound and radar.

Mixing and Application
- Mix ratio by volume: 5425/0000 base 2 parts : 0707/9000 activator 1 part : 0491/9000 thinner 1 part
- No induction time; pot life 3 hours at 21–25 °C
- Apply at 15–35 °C and 30–85% RH in several single passes to 40–150 µm (1.6–6 mil) dry film; sand aged P99/PAC33 primers first
- Theoretical coverage: 4 m²/L at 90 µm
Drying Times (23 °C / 60–70 °C)
- Dry to touch 4 h / 30 min; dry to tape 6–8 h; dry to sand 10 h / 1 h
- Overcoat 2 hours minimum, 72 hours maximum; full cure 7 days / 5 h
Storage
- Base and activator: 24 months in unopened containers; 5–35 °C
- Mixed VOC: 540 g/L; colours white (5425/0000) and blue (5425/6407)
