PPG Desothane® HS CA8000C3 is the fastest reducer in the CA8000C series for Desothane® HS CA8000 polyurethane topcoats. It shortens pot life and drying times compared with the standard CA8000C reducer.
CA8000 System
- Desothane® HS CA8000 is a high-solids, low-VOC polyurethane topcoat for aircraft exteriors, applied over Desoprime™ epoxy primers; service temperature −54 °C to 177 °C
- Qualified to AIMS 04-04-012/-013/-025/-031/-032, AMS 3095, BMS 10-60 T2, BMS 10-72 T8, BMS 10-125, BAMS 565-002/-009, MSRR 1006 and others; meets MIL-PRF-85285 performance requirements
- Mix ratio by volume: CA8000 base 2 parts : CA8000B activator 1 part : CA8000C series reducer 1 part; do not adjust viscosity
With CA8000C3 (23 °C, 50% RH)
- Pot life: 1 hour at 21–25 °C
- Inter-coat time 15–30 minutes; dust free 30 minutes; dry to tape 1–2 hours
- Overcoat window 2–24 hours; full cure 7 days; dry to tape at 60 °C: 15 minutes

- Flash point: 22 °C (72 °F); VOC 720–760 g/L
- Shelf life 24 months in original unopened container; store at 5–35 °C
