PPG Desothane® HS CA8211/FS#17875 is a high-solids polyurethane topcoat in colour FS#17875 from the CA8200 military and defence series. It protects aircraft exteriors over Desoprime™ epoxy and Koroflex™ urethane primers, offering good gloss and colour retention and excellent fluid resistance, with a service temperature of −54 °C to 177 °C (−65 °F to 350 °F).

Mixing and Application
- Mix ratio by volume: CA8211 base 3 parts : CA8200B activator 1 part; no induction time
- Pot life (CA82X1): 4 hours at 13–28 °C, 3 hours above 29 °C
- Apply at 15–30 °C and 20–90% RH in a one-coat (cross coat) or two-coat system; recommended dry film 50–100 µm (2–4 mil)
- Theoretical coverage: 20 m²/L at 25 µm dry film
Drying Times (CA82X1, 22–28 °C)
- Dry to tape 5–7 hours; dry hard 12 hours; dry to fly 48 hours
- Accelerated: 1 hour flash-off at 24 °C, then 4 hours at 49 °C
Storage
- 12 months from manufacture in unopened containers; 5–35 °C
