PPG EC75 is a two pack epoxy topcoat designed to protect internal structures of aircraft and land based equipment. It is applied over epoxy and polyurethane primers and gives high resistance to aircraft fluids, including phosphate ester hydraulic fluid, and to chemicals. It is qualified to Def Stan 80-161 and MSRR9064 and is compatible with BS2X32, BS2X33A+B, Def Stan 80-206, 80-207 and 80-216 primers/fillers. This product is black.
Mixing and Application
- By volume EC75 : activator : T17 thinner = 1 : 1 : 0.5–1.0; by gloss ACT65 (full gloss), ACT66 (semi gloss), ACT67 (eggshell), ACT68 (matt)
- For brushing EC75 : ACT69 = 2:1
- Pot life 8 hours at 21–25 °C; apply at 15–35 °C, 30–85% RH
- Dry film thickness 25–35 µm; theoretical coverage 11 m²/L at 30 µm
Drying (23 °C)
- Dust free 90 min; hard dry 16 hours; overcoat 4–72 hours
- Dry to fly 48 hours; full cure 7 days (3 hours at 70 °C)
Storage
- Base and activators 24 months, T17 thinner 10 years; store at 5–35 °C
