PPG 0434/9000 is the thinner component of the two pack, chromated P99 wash primer system designed for the protection of aircraft exteriors. It is added after the base and acid catalyst are mixed, up to the recommended viscosity. The P99 system cures at ambient temperature, offers high resistance to filiform corrosion and adheres well to polyurethane primers, light alloys and steel. P99 is qualified to AIMS 04-04-012, AIMS 04-04-026, AIMS 04-04-054 and AMS 3095.
Use
- Mix ratio by volume: 7641/3600 base 1, 0841/9000 acid catalyst 1, 0434/9000 thinner to viscosity (typically 0.1–0.3)
- Induction time 15–30 min; mixed pot life 8 hours at 21–25 °C
- One wet coat to 4–8 µm dry film
