PR-1861 Adhesion Promoter is specially designed to promote adhesion of the PR-1425CF and PR-1829 windshield sealants to windshield surfaces where crazing is a concern. It is used on acrylic, polycarbonate and glass, and does not craze acrylic or polycarbonate. It is a one-part solution applied in a thin coat by brush or clean gauze.

- Peel strength, 100% cohesive failure, dry 14 days at 25 °C (77 °F) (with PR-1425CF B-1/2): MIL-P-8184 acrylic 65 pli (285 N/25 mm); MIL-P-83310 polycarbonate 59 pli (258 N/25 mm)
Application
- Immediately before application, clean surfaces with appropriate solvents and a new lint-free cloth conforming to AMS 3819; dry with a second clean cloth before the solvent evaporates
- Apply a thin coat of PR-1861 and allow the required dry time
- If the surface becomes contaminated or sealing is not done within 8 hours, repeat the procedure

Packaging and Shelf Life
- At least 6 months below 27 °C (80 °F) in original, unopened containers
- Hygroscopic; keep free of moisture and discard if it becomes cloudy or particles are visible
