PR-1770 C-12 is a two-part, manganese dioxide cured faying surface sealant based on Permapol® P-5 liquid polymers, a chemically modified class of polysulphide polymers. It is used over a temperature range of -55 °C to +180 °C, resists aircraft fuels and lubricating oils, and resists degradation by phosphate ester hydraulic oils. It is applied by brush or roller, and the cured sealant remains elastomeric after prolonged fuel exposure.

- Tensile strength (standard cure): 3.38 MPa (522 psi); elongation at break: 413%
- JRF immersion: weight loss 4.8%; no cracks over mandrel
Cure
- C-12 at 25 °C: application life 12 hours; faying surface assembly time 20 hours; faying surface cure 14 days
Application
- Immediately before application, clean surfaces with appropriate solvents and new lint-free cloth; dry with a second clean cloth before the solvent evaporates
- Confirm adhesion on the specific substrate before use on production parts
Packaging and Shelf Life
- Shelf life: 6 months when stored between 5 °C and 25 °C in original unopened containers
