Hernon® ReAct 783 is a tough acrylic adhesive designed primarily for bonding permanent magnets, and it has found wide acceptance in a variety of structural bonding applications thanks to its versatile performance. It cures at room temperature in combination with Hernon Activator 59 or Activator 63.
Typical Properties
- Resin: modified acrylic; appearance: clear-yellow liquid
- Viscosity at 25 °C: 18,000–25,000 cP; specific gravity 0.99
- Fixture time (grit-blasted steel, Activator 63 on one side): ≤5 minutes
- Shear strength (ASTM D1002, grit-blasted steel, 24 h at 22 °C): 2000–3500 psi

- Eliminates mechanical clips; minimal clamping time; no heat cure required
Directions for Use
- Surfaces must be clean and free of grease; apply activator to one surface and adhesive to the other, and assemble within 2 hours
- For large gaps up to 0.5 mm or faster cure, apply activator to both surfaces and assemble immediately
- Allow typically 24–72 hours to develop full strength before service loads
- Not normally recommended for thermoplastics (risk of stress cracking); not for pure oxygen or oxygen-rich systems
